The International Medicine Chairperson researches ways for students to incorporate international medicine into their education.  Opportunities including international rotations, mission trips, and scholarships presented each month in the SOMA newsletter.  The chairperson also coordinates the Better World Book Drive and serves as the liaison between SOMA and the International Medical Society.

This year as International Medicine Chairperson I will work to support the International Medical Society (IMS) as they work to be reinstated as a club on campus.  Together with IMS I plan on establishing times for students and faculty to share their experiences working in a healthcare setting internationally.  These presentations will give students a source of firsthand knowledge on possible international rotations and mission trips in addition to the programs highlighted in the monthly SOMA newsletter.  I would also like to work with IMS in welcoming international students to LMU-DCOM to speak about their experiences with healthcare in their countries.  I also hope to have another successful Better World Book Drive and assist in promoting World AIDS Day.
