SOMA is the national organization that is responsible for voicing the concerns and interests of osteopathic medical students across the United States. It is the student arm to the American Osteopathic Association, and works closely with them to enhance the practice of osteopathic medicine and wellness nationally.
Additionally, SOMA works through local chapters to provide community service to the areas surrounding osteopathic medical schools. These combined efforts help to improve the lives and communities that each school serves.
Finally, SOMA works with osteopathic medical students and pre-osteopathic medical students to provide educational services, recreational activities, leadership opportunities, and numerous other membership benefits as described on the Member Benefits page. SOMA students can receive services ranging from resume assistance to international rotation placement help.
